Ponywhip!!

Queens rockers Ponywhip finished overdubbing and mixing on their first EP, Mean Streak, in Studio A and C with Joel and Dan. Here’s some info on the band: “PONYWHIP are a Queens-based* almost all girl band with some times under their belts and some thoughts on their minds. We used to be called The Jamies! Let’s join them and get a peek into their lives, their loves, their adventures, and their very souls. *Astoria, Queens if you want to get specific.”

Superhuman Happiness (!)

Superhuman Happiness came into Studio A to track drums and trumpet for their cover of, “Ile Aye” to be released on the upcoming edition of the Red Hot and Rio compilation. The session, with Dan engineering, made good use of our new Coles 4038 mics! When we were done with percussion overdubs, Superhuman’s keyboard whiz (and GodelString intern) Jared Samuel laid down some overdubs with our Moog Voyager for SH’s upcoming full length release.

El Pueblo

Local NYC reggae act El Pueblo were recently at GodelString with Joel Hamburger at the helm. Their new track, “Babylon System Slave“ is now up for sale for a good cause at Just Music.

All proceeds from the sale of “Babylon System Slave” through Just Music will go straight to Amnesty International.
